Michael Vick sentenced to 23 months for dogfighting

Michael Vick, once one of the highest paid players in the National Football League, was sentenced to 23 months in prison for financing a dogfighting ring and helping to kill pit bulls that did not fight aggressively.

my comments - Almost 2 years in jail for Vick. Wow, he'll probably be gone from football til 2009-2010, but he'll still be 29-30 years old. He'll still be considerably young as a quarterback especially since quarterbacks don't mature into great ones until way into their career (ex. Vinny Testaverde, Randall Cunningham, Doug Flutie). Question is, will he be able to have the same athletic ability and skill that made him into an exciting quarterback to watch and are teams willing to take a chance in him knowing he'll still probably have the horrible baggage he's carrying right now which will equate to bad publicity towards the team? Its really ashamed that a guy with so much potential to be great have to go out this way, but at the same time, he's a total idiot.
