Old School Video of Me (DMC Houston 2001)

wow, this takes me back. the 1st 2 minutes of this video is me battling in a DJ battle. i went to Houston, TX to compete in a DMC Regional back in 2001 where the winner goes to the USA Finals. I got 3rd place in the competition, which was pretty good for an out of towner to do coming from Virginia into uncharted Texas territory. I remember Fast4ward from Texas got 2nd place and Cue Two from Connecticut won. Big ups to the OUTSIDERS!!!! (Dini, me, Esquire, and Cue Two). i met lots of good peeps there, great djs as well. Shouts to Manila Ice, Fast4Ward, Shorty, Nytkrawler, Baby J.

Super Cal, the lighting technician at Ibiza Nightclub, videotaped me at my gig there one night and there's some vid of me cuttin'. Most of it is just video of the record spinning with his lighting magic shining on it, but I guess he likes videotaping that sort of thing, hahaha. RIP Sean Taylor

Here's a pic of Sean Taylor's jersey from his rookie year and his old number (he wears # 21 now). I was watching the news last night shocked that he was shot and was in critical condition, but also relieved when doctors were saying he was responsive and looked like he was gonna make it. Fast forward to this morning and turning on the morning news. I just couldn't believe the news I heard, "dead at 24". I'm definitely mourning today 'cause he was probably the best player in our squad the past couple of years. I don't know what the skins are gonna do for the rest of the year.
